Eemil porvari

Background and story

Eemil Porvari, a javelin thrower from Hartola, has risen to the top of Finnish athletics thanks to determined work and passion. Eemil was born as the middle son of the Porvar family in 2003. The childhood home, Porvari's farm, offered a good environment for Eemil to develop as an athlete. From an early age, he practiced javelin throwing enthusiastically, although sometimes his father had to hide the javelins when the activity became too serious.

Home yard - Childhood training ground

The large yard of Porvari's farm, full of opportunities for play and exercise, was the place where Eemil's javelin throwing began. The trampoline, playing with his brothers and working on the farm served as daily exercise and laid the foundation for sports in Eemil's childhood.

A new passion from a hobby

Eemil joined Hartolan Voima's coaching group when he was 8 years old. In addition to the javelin, success also came from an early age in many fields, and Eemil even considered decathlon as possible main career. As a child, Eemil watched a lot of throwing videos, after which the throwers' technique was tested and applied to his own throwing. He spent 2-3 hours a day doing this. Sometimes father hid the spears when
the javelin throw became "too serious".

Through difficulties to victory

However, the career hasn’t been all smooth sailing. Javelin throwing is a demanding sport, and the enthusiasm of youth led to elbow surgery, followed later by a bulging disc in the back during mandatory military service. However, recovering from these challenges has made Eemil even stronger and more determined.

Eemil, who has been training healthy for one and half years now, is ready to continue his ascent towards the top of the javelin. This is good place to continue!
